Titan Socket Head (Hex Wrench) Take-Down Screw
Awesome custom addition to your 10/22 and it’s made the RIGHT WAY.
CNC Machined Stainless Steel to be an EXACT replacement.
Up-grade without ruining your factory B-51 Brass Escutcheon by “striping" it’s threads. Regular Hex Head screws strip the brass threads first time you tighten the screw, then your make-do screw FALLS OUT of the stock every time you loosen it, nerve wrackin.
Ruger’s B-51 Brass Escutcheon is designed NOT to drop the B-65 Take-Down Screw, unless you actually un-screw it from the Escutcheon. Titan’s new Takedown Screw is CNC Machined to be an exact replacement, only better. Never falls out or strips the Escutcheon threads.
Already ruined your Escutcheon? No problem, a new one comes with the Titan Hex Head Take-Down Screw, just tap out your old Escutcheon and in with the new. That simple….
TIP: Installing the new Escutcheon.
1. After removing (just tap it out) the old Escutcheon and Takedown Screw.
2. Locate stock back into position on 10/22 barreled action.
3. Push new Escutcheon - Takedown Screw into place with finger.
4. Tighten Takedown Screw as you would normally, will easily pull into place.
5. “Some folks just tap it into place, and then install the screw”
NOTE: You can repeatedly torque your Titan's Hex Head Take-Down Screw to exact tolerances. When stocks are cinched down to varying tolerances, accuracy suffers. Allow your barrel to bed on a thin (dime thickness) rubber about 1 inch round, locate just inside front stock channel to dampen barrel-stock vibrations. Works great, well worth a try.
Summary: Faster and easier stock removal; more secure in build-up, and eliminates un-sightly stripped and burred screw slots. Replaces the factory B-65 screw with no modifications to stock or rifle, easy installation.
If you "ever" manage to break one, send the pieces to Sportables for a quick replacement, no questions asked.
